So this is it! I've taken a deep breath and I may hyperventilate but here it is. My first post to my own blog. I can't believe it!!!
I am a California licensed esthetician. In case you are unfamiliar with this job title, it is the formal name for a skin care therapist.
This blog will discuss skin care issues. I will periodically provide links to original ebooks for sale. The first book I've written lists the road blocks and pitfalls when starting and building a skin care practice. The target audience are those interested in making a career change.
Other ebooks will be study guides for those already in school and preparing for the state board licensing exam.
I will also be providing product reviews based on my personal use of the products I recommend.
I hope to also build a community of estheticians who will join in the discussion with suggestions, recommendations, and tips.

- I am a licensed esthetician working in California. I came to the field late in life...at 54. I love helping women improve both their appearance and self-esteem through skincare education. For example, as a certified instructor for the Look Good...Feel Better program of the American Cancer Society, I have been able to help women in cancer treatment look & feel better about themselves. Positive self-care has been shown to increase patients healing time, extend remission periods, & facilitate cures. I have also presented skincare classes for Boys' & Girls clubs; the San Diego County foster care facility; & a women's halfway house. In addition to this blog, I have written a free skincare manual that includes recipes for inexpensive, home-made products as well as ingredient lists to aid in choosing quality skincare products, this manual can be found at www.lulu.com/carolyn johnson. Also in development is a series of study guides for esthetics students.
